1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Altere ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Altere is an AI-powered productivity assistant that provides:
- Local Parakeet voice-to-text transcription
- Cross-application context capture and memory
- Document watching with native extraction and OCR
- AI-powered text processing, quick actions, and chat
- Integration with third-party applications and AI providers via a multi-provider catalog
3. License Models and Data Processing
BYOK (Bring Your Own Keys)
- Direct communication: Content goes from your device to your chosen AI provider
- No Altere involvement in content: We do not store your BYOK prompts or responses
- Provider policies apply: Subject to your chosen provider’s terms
Altere Provider (Complete license)
- Routing: We route requests to upstream models for generation
- No content archive: Conversation bodies are not retained for training or mining
- Usage metrics: Essential quota metrics may be collected
- Monthly limits: 1 hour transcription + 100 fast + 25 slow actions per month (beta terms may vary)
4. User Responsibilities
- Use the service for lawful purposes only
- Do not violate applicable laws
- Do not transmit harmful or unlawful content
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Maintain security of your credentials and API keys
5. License Purchase and Updates
- Transcription Only: $9 one-time (post-beta pricing)
- Complete: $59 one-time (post-beta pricing)
- Free updates: 1 year included with purchase
- Ownership: License remains yours after purchase
- No subscription: No recurring fees for the core license
6. Refunds
- Full refund within 7 days of purchase
- No-questions-asked policy
- Processed within 5–10 business days
- After 7 days, sales are final
7. Availability and Updates
- Core local transcription works offline
- Cloud routing and remote providers require internet
- Free updates for 1 year from purchase; extended updates available later
8. Intellectual Property
Altere software and branding are owned by Altere. You retain ownership of content you create or capture.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Altere is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenues.
10. Third-Party Services
Third-party AI providers and apps are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, content, or practices.
11. Modifications
We may modify these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Altere is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
