At Altere, privacy is fundamental to how the product is designed. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our AI productivity assistant.
1. Privacy-first approach
BYOK
- Your data does not need to touch Altere servers for model calls
- Direct device-to-provider communication
- Local Parakeet transcription stays on your machine
Altere provider
- Optional routing for generation with monthly quotas
- We do not archive chat bodies for training
- Essential usage metrics for billing and quotas only
2. What we do not collect
- Your voice recordings or local transcriptions as a cloud archive
- Document, email, or application content as a server-side corpus
- Location fingerprinting or advertising profiles
- Clipboard or screen captures as cloud storage
3. What we may collect
- Account email for licensing and support
- Payment data via our payment provider (not stored by us as raw card data)
- Short-lived operational/security logs
- Support messages you send us
- Quota/usage counters when using the Altere provider
4. How content is processed
Local processing
Parakeet speech-to-text runs on your device. Voice need not leave your computer for transcription.
BYOK
Content you choose to send goes to your provider under their privacy policy, over TLS.
Altere provider
Requests are routed for generation; we do not keep a content archive. Quotas apply.
5. Third-party providers
When you use OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq, Ollama, or others, their policies apply. Review them before sending sensitive content.
6. Security

7. Your rights
- Delete your account/license association
- Ask what account data we hold
- Choose providers and keep knowledge local
8. Cookies
This marketing site may use analytics (e.g. Google Analytics). The desktop app does not rely on advertising trackers.
9. Children
Altere is not intended for children under 13.
